Abby Feltz- Visionary/ Leader
My name is Abby. I’m the wife to Brady, a US Army Chaplain, who I affectionately call my “Captain Husband America” and I’m an “on-the-go mom” (aka “stay-at-home mom”, though that’s not really what I do), to my favorite little boy, Alex (3 yrs) and Little Miss Josee J (9 mos). My family is currently stationed in Washington DC where my husband is serving Arlington National Cemetery.

I have always had a passion for kids. My home summer camp made a profound impact on my life and I went on to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Bible and a Master’s of Arts in Christian Ministries. Other significant training includes a new church start training and I am currently attending the Kingdom Dreams Initiative.
My work experiences have also had throughlines of cultivating community as I served in college admissions, on staff with Carnival Cruise Lines Youth and Entertainment, and in various church staff positions.
Common threads in my life have been
- Something pertaining to the nurturing of youth,
- Opportunities to start new ministries within the military,
- Fulfilling the call He has placed on my life to cultivate community
Working on “The Dandelion Club” is such an honor and privilege!
Heidi Hovan- Chief Supporter/ Encourager

Heidi Hovan is excited to join the Dandelion Club ministry as Chief Supporter and Encourager! Having been a wife of an Army chaplain, Kevin, for 20 years, Heidi knows how challenging military life can be, and having two children, now 14 and 17, she remembers wondering WHERE to take the kids to play that was fun and welcoming! Heidi is Associate Pastor at New Hope (Wesleyan) Fellowship, a ministry to the housing insecure population in Fairfax, and will continue her 12th year of homeschooling this fall by teaching teenagers at Way of Faith Academy, also in Fairfax. A resident of Alexandria, Heidi’s lost touch with how many times she’s moved. She loves chatting with friends and drinking coffee, which makes Dandelion Club a perfect fit!
It takes a team!
To Stephanie Kersey, I love that the idea came about in a conversation that happened out of your ministry to my family by opening your home to us whenever we wanted to come. I’m so excited for the music classes you’ll teach!
To Heidi Ho, In another conversation with Stephanie Kersey, I listed exactly what I wanted in an Assistant. God gave me “abundantly more than I could have asked or imagined” in you just a few short days later. Thanks for being the Cheif Supporter and Encourager in this.
To Jeanna Smith, I’m so thankful you understand that the most important work we can be doing through The Dandelion Club happens through prayer. Your role is definitely from the Holy Spirit!
But also, my main (& only, lol) man Brady Feltz who has sacrificed so much to make it happen. He has shared more of the parenting responsibilities, prayed, encouraged, advocated and most recently sacrificed all the training he has done to date for the Marine Corp marathon, he’ll be crossing that finish line next year! I’m so grateful to have him as a partner.
