Introducing “The Dandelion Club”

What if there were indoor playgrounds on every major military installation? What if in these spaces, parents could connect over coffee and kids could connect through play? What if they had rooms where spouses could have support groups? What if these spaces connected military families to a larger chapel community where they could find even more spiritual support if they so desired?

That is what “The Dandelion Club” is an initiative that aims to provide indoor play spaces on every major military installation for the benefit of both kids and parents while simultaneously nurturing the chapel community.

This dream of “The Dandelion Club,” is just beginning to sprout and we do not have the space yet. I believe it is God’s dream because it is such a huge endeavor, only God can do it. But it is needed and we have proof of that need. That is where we are, in the dream stage, developing the idea and mapping out the journey.

The dandelion is the official flower of the military because “Dandelions are able to grow and bloom just about anywhere their roots are planted. Not only that, but they symbolize happiness, joy, perseverance, endurance, and hope.” (army.mil) I have also noticed that when you find one dandelion, you never find just one. They thrive among others! Thus, “The Dandelion Club” would be spaces where we nurture their growth.

If military families are the bedrock of the army, let us do what we can to strengthen them!
