Whoever you are- whether you are a Fort Belvoir parent or you are a personal friend of mine from little ole’ Eaton, OH – there are ways you can help. Thank you for even being here, reading this. Being informed shows you care.
- Come play! If you have ever been a part of Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC), MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), LaLeche, or Stroller Warriors (or you want to be) come to the play morning on Tuesday, May 23rd at 10 am at Woodlawn playground (not to be confused with Woodlawn Chapel). Also at this play morning, we will talk about where “The Dandelion Club” is in its journey.
- Attend ACS Play Mornings. We have to prove there is a need for this through participation in what is already happening at Fort Belvoir. What leadership wants to see is attendance at the ACS play dates, which will be every Friday morning starting June 2.
– To be added to the ACS emails about play dates, email fbfamilyadvocacy@gmail.com
– A word from ACS “2023 Registration Forms are found at the ACS front desk and must be completed before attending any Play Morning session. The ACS address is 5965 6th St. Fort Belvoir, VA” - Join the “Boots on the Ground” Team- Garrison Chaplains are in discussion about what creating play spaces in the chapel ministries could look like. We hope to deploy sitting room/ nursery toy rooms with coffee and snacks this fall. Sign up here if you are willing and interested in brainstorming and staffing these spaces. Brainstorming Meetings are likely to be once a month at 7:30pm on Zoom starting in July of 2023.
- Join the Prayer Team– Prayer is the most important thing we can do because it is God doing the work, we’re just obedient. If you would like to get monthly prayer updates and invitations to join a monthly prayer meeting via Zoom, sign up here.
- Give financially- though the heavy fundraising is yet to come when we’re ready to build indoor playgrounds, there are already expenses. Abby is currently going through a $3,000 training called the Kingdom Dreams Initiative where she is getting coaching, strategizing, and pitching to investors through the program. There are also branding costs such as this website, business cards, and email domains. Everything is coming out of Abby’s pocket, so if you feel led to support this initiative, please give through Venmo. Thank you!
